As of now, I'm currently not having to work on Fridays, so I've been really taking advantage of this extra free time. How, you ask, have I been wasting away my Fridays?
1. Sleeping in. Don't look at me sideways. Thursdays nights usually go pretty late for us and since I typically wake up around 4:30 am on other mornings, sleeping in for me means 8:00am.
2. Good Work-out. I try to stay pretty active the rest of the week, but because I'm a morning work-out kinda girl...and I wake up at 4:30am during the week, I usually ending up just snoozing most mornings. So, Friday mornings have become 1 of 3 work-out mornings for me.
3. Lunch date with my love. Nuff said. :)
4. Afternoon Naps. As hard as I've tried to grow up, I just can't seem to out-grow my love of taking a mid-afternoon nap. It seems ridiculous to me to take a nap after I've already slept in. But I think I've allowed myself to justify it with the fact that I really do get VERY litle sleep during the week.
5. Pizza Night. Growing up in a teacher's home, Friday nights were always the night we ordered pizza and fell asleep on the couch watching TGIF and 20-20. Honestly, i never get tired of pizza even though sometimes I try to trick myself into having had enough of the stuff. It never works. And even though we don't watch TGIF (does that even still exist?), we still pick a good movie on TV or pick one up from Blockbuster. I think I feel comfortable enough to carry this family tradition on to my future family.
6. Double-Date Night. When we aren't vegging out on pizza and movies on TV, we're usually hanging out with some of our friends. And let's just be honest here...we're probably also playing some sort of board game. Anyone for Cranium, Apples to Apples, Nerts?
I may not have a full-time, 9 to 5 kind of job, but that doesn't mean I can't thoroughly enjoy my weekends and the time I get to spend with my husband. And I hope that however you spend your weekends, it's as relaxing and enjoyable as mine are!
Happy Friday, everyone!
